NEW LAUNCH: STYLE WITH A CONSCIENCE

New in store for A/W12 is the luxury fashion label Beulah London. Available in the city for the first time, the striking ‘Butterfly Effect’ collection features signature silk evening gowns in emerald green, fiery red and sapphire blue.

Renowned as a favourite of both Kate and Pippa Middleton, the dresses are available in shorter cocktail lengths, making them perfect for all occasions. There are also exquisite separates, including pussy bow blouses, printed shell tops and maxi skirts.

As well as creating beautifully crafted silk garments, Beulah London has a strong ethical conscience. Founded by Natasha Rufus-Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan, the ethos of the brand is to help victims of human trafficking and the sex trade. Certain pieces have been produced through the Open Hand project in Delhi or created to specifically raise awareness or funds.

“Beulah believes in empowerment through employment,” Natasha Rufus-Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan explain. “By employing women who have been victims of human trafficking in India as part of our production lines, it means that for every beautiful Beulah London dress designed, there’s an equally beautiful change happening somewhere else in the world.

“The ‘butterfly effect’ is defined as a phenomenon whereby a small change at one place in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere. This comes alive through every Beulah London purchase, helping break the chains of poverty in some of the world's most marginalised communities.”

Prices for Beulah London’s Butterfly Effect collection range from £170 for a printed shell top with three quarter length sleeves, to £790 for a luxurious evening gown with cut-out back detailing.
