NEWS: A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO RAISE FUNDS

We've joined forces with a leading UK cancer charity to stage our first fundraising Theatre of Beauty. The event will be staged in store on Wednesday November 7, with  ticket proceeds being donated to Look Good...Feel Better, the beauty industry’s charity that helps women combat the visible side-effects of their cancer treatment. Available in more than 60 hospitals in the UK – including Bristol’s Haematology & Oncology Centre – the LGFB Programme provides uplifting skincare and make-up workshops to increase self confidence and self esteem.

The Theatre of Beauty will run from 6pm-9pm and guests can enjoy a host of beauty demonstrations, consultations and mini make-overs from leading cosmetic and skincare brands. There will also be competitions to win exclusive gifts and experiences as well as live Q&A sessions with beauty experts on stage. Tickets cost £15 to include drinks, canapés and a goody bag.

There will also be a limited number of VIP tickets available, at £25, which includes a 15-minute one-to-one with experts Sophie Beresiner, Look Magazine, and Bella Blissett, from You Magazine. Inside a specially created ‘Beauty Editors’ lounge, you will receive expert advice on the hottest new products, trends and beauty tips, plus a specially-created VIP goody bag filled with skincare and make-up treats. Appointments are available from 6pm-9pm - book early to avoid disappointment.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT OUR AW12 SHOW

 

What a hectic day! From hair and make-up to fittings and last minute shoe changes, there is so much to do to ensure our catwalk shows are as slick and chic as possible. Here's a sneaky peek of what goes on behind the scenes.

  

 

Make-up for our catwalk show was created by the very talented in-store team at Shu Uemura. Picking up on the leading catwalk trends, the look highlighted the model's eyes with graphic-style liner while the lips were kept nude. 

 

 

The amazingly stylish up 'dos were created by Shaun Nicholas from Park Row salon MaximumFX.

 

WE'RE HITTING AUTUMN ON THE BOUNCE

 

If you've not spotted them yet, we've unveiled our latest window displays for A/W12. The scheme – called Bounce – showcases collections from Raoul, McQ Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Mary Katrantzou, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Mulberry.

 

 

The idea behind the scheme is that it looks like different coloured balls on slow shutter speed so that they appear to be bouncing through the windows continuously. In some windows, the balls are stuck on the outside of the glass using magnets so they look like they are bouncing right out of the windows.
